Other help

Urgent support

If you feel like you might attempt suicide, or may have seriously harmed yourself, you need urgent medical help. Please:

  • Call 999 for an ambulance
  • Go straight to A&E, if you can
  • Call your local crisis team, if you have their number

Other services who can help include:

Samaritans - you can speak to someone 24/7 by phone, text, email or post

Mind - have practical tools you can use to support yourself

Refuge (for women) and ManKind (for men) can provide support and advice if you are experiencing domestic abuse

Calm (the Campaign Against Living Miserably) - provide support and tools for people affected by suicide or suicidal thoughts

Other local mental health initiatives

Different organisations and activities are out there that you might find helpful. Here are a few in the Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire area.

Men Walking & Talking - a national initiative with a Long Eaton branch

Horizon Self-Help Group - a self-help group for people recovering from mental health problems
